S-5! SnoGard™ EF Snow Retention System for Exposed-Fastened Metal Roofs - 84 LF Kit

The S-5! SnoGard™ EF Snow Retention System is a purpose-built, pre-engineered continuous-bar snow retention solution designed for exposed-fastened metal roofs, including AG-panel, R-Panel, PBR and similar agricultural and rural roofing applications. Engineered and tested to S-5!'s rigorous standards, SnoGard EF provides a stronger, cleaner and more reliable alternative to field-fabricated snow retention systems.

SnoGard EF features a prescriptive, pre-engineered design that simplifies system selection and installation. Published application guidelines and simplified snow load charts help contractors determine roof compatibility and the required number of snow retention rows without project-specific engineering calculations for qualifying applications. The system is optimized for 9" and 12" rib spacing, helping reduce unnecessary components and installation costs.

Each system uses SnoGard EF crossmembers supported by EF Tabs with factory-applied EPDM seals, eliminating the need for messy sealants. The attachment design has been tested for watertightness in accordance with ASTM E2140, and installation is not restricted to purlin locations, providing greater flexibility in system layout. Prepackaged components and standardized installation methods make SnoGard EF a practical solution for agricultural buildings, post-frame structures, rural commercial facilities and other compatible exposed-fastened metal roofs.

Each kit provides 84 linear feet of SnoGard EF snow retention components for compatible exposed-fastened metal roofs. The prepackaged system simplifies ordering and installation with matching crossmembers, attachment tabs, splices and fasteners.

Optional ColorStrip is sold separately. 

System Selection

SnoGard EF uses published load charts to determine the required number of snow retention rows based on roof pitch, rafter length and roof design snow load. The standard charts cover roof slopes from 1:12 through 9:12, rafter lengths up to 50 feet and roof design snow loads up to 50 psf.

For applications outside the published guidelines, contact us for assistance. Larger, more complex or higher-load projects may require an alternative S-5! engineered snow retention system.
