Description
Stiffened Z-Girts, also known as lipped Z-channels, are cold-formed steel framing members used to support metal wall panels, architectural cladding, and rainscreen systems. Installed between structural supports, they create a strong sub-framing system that provides a consistent mounting surface for exterior panel systems while allowing space for insulation behind the wall assembly.
The stiffened lip along the flange increases rigidity and helps reduce deflection compared to standard Z-girts, making them ideal for supporting metal panels, ACM systems, fiber cement panels, and other façade materials.
To accommodate different shipping and jobsite needs, these Z-girts are available in 10-foot sections shipped via freight, or 7'8" sections designed to ship via UPS for easier handling and lower shipping costs on smaller orders.
Key Features
- Stiffened (Lipped) Z-Girt Design – Reinforced lips along the flanges increase rigidity and help reduce deflection compared to standard Z-girts.
- Multiple Sizes Available – Offered in a range of depths and gauges to support different wall assemblies, insulation thicknesses, and cladding systems.
- Supports Metal Panels & Cladding Systems – Ideal for metal wall panels, ACM panels, fiber cement, HPL, and other architectural façade materials.
- Creates Sub-Framing for Exterior Walls – Provides a stable attachment surface while allowing space for continuous insulation and rainscreen assemblies.
- Galvanized Steel Construction – Cold-formed galvanized steel designed for durability in exterior wall and façade applications.
- Two Length Options Available – Choose 10' sections for standard installation or 7'8" sections designed to ship UPS for easier handling and lower shipping costs.
