  • Description

The Malco FCC7 Fiber Cement Siding Angle Cutter delivers precise straight and angle cuts in fiber cement planks up to 12″ wide and 5/16″ (8 mm) thick. The guillotine-style design produces clean edges with minimal airborne dust, reducing the need for circular saws on many jobsite cuts.

A high-leverage handle and long-life nickel-plated blade reduce cutting effort while maintaining consistent performance. The durable welded frame and fold-out support legs provide stability on the ground or when mounted to sawhorses.

Built for professional installers who want cleaner cuts, less dust, and reliable jobsite performance.

    Key Features

    • Cuts fiber cement planks up to 12" (305 mm) wide and 5/16" (8 mm) thick
    • Produces clean cuts with minimal airborne dust
    • Guillotine design allows straight and multi-angle pitch cuts (3/12–12/12 and custom angles)
    • Long-life nickel-plated blade for extended durability
    • High-leverage handle reduces cutting force
    • Large work plate and open throat provide clearance for angle cuts
    • Adjustable fence for accurate 90° cuts; swings out of the way for angle cuts
    • Fence can be positioned for left- or right-hand preference
    • Stable welded steel frame built for rugged jobsite use
    • Fold-out feet provide added stability and allow sawhorse mounting

    Safety Notice

Fiber cement contains crystalline silica. Respirable silica dust generated during cutting is known to cause cancer. Always follow OSHA-compliant dust control and personal protective equipment guidelines.

Frequently Asked Questions

What size fiber cement siding can the FCC7 cut?

The FCC7 is designed to cut fiber cement siding planks up to 12 inches (305 mm) wide and 5/16 inch (8 mm) thick. This covers most standard lap siding profiles used in residential and light commercial applications.

If you primarily install 8-inch siding and only need straight cuts, the FCC4 may be sufficient. However, the FCC7 provides greater flexibility for wider planks and angle cuts required for gables, roof transitions, and trim work.

Does a fiber cement guillotine shear reduce silica dust compared to a circular saw?

Yes. Fiber cement guillotine shears cut the material using a mechanical shearing action rather than grinding through it with a circular saw blade. Because there is no high-speed abrasive cutting, significantly less airborne dust is generated during the cutting process.

Fiber cement contains crystalline silica, and respirable silica dust is known to cause serious health risks. While guillotine-style cutters greatly reduce airborne dust compared to traditional saw cutting methods, contractors should still follow OSHA-compliant safety practices and use appropriate personal protective equipment when working with fiber cement siding.

Guillotine shears are often preferred on jobsites where reducing dust exposure, cleanup time, and airborne debris is a priority.

What is the difference between the FCC7 and FCC4 Fiber Cement Guillotine Shears?

Both the FCC7 and FCC4 are designed to cut 5/16″ (8 mm) fiber cement siding cleanly with minimal airborne dust. However, they are built for different applications.

The FCC4 is designed specifically for making straight, square cuts in fiber cement planks up to 8-1/4″ (210 mm) wide. It is ideal for installers who primarily work with standard 8″ lap siding and need consistent, clean cuts without distortion or compression. The large support plate and board stop help ensure accurate straight cuts.

The FCC7 offers expanded capability. It cuts fiber cement planks up to 12″ (305 mm) wide and allows both straight and angle cuts. This makes it better suited for gable ends, roof pitch cuts, and projects requiring custom angles in addition to standard straight cuts.

Does the FCC7 require assembly before use?

Yes. The handle is shipped separately and must be attached using the included hardware. A factory-installed shipping clip secures the blade during transport and must be repositioned before operation.

The setup process is straightforward and typically takes only a few minutes.

How long does the blade last, and can it be sharpened?

Both the FCC7 and FCC4 use a long-life nickel-plated blade designed for extended jobsite use. Under normal cutting conditions, the blade is rated for approximately 12,000 cuts (around 8,000 linear feet) on 8.25″ fiber cement siding planks.

Sharpening is not recommended. When cutting performance declines, the blade should be replaced to maintain clean, accurate cuts and minimize chipping.
