    The S-5! PVKIT 2.0 EdgeGrab is used at all perimeter locations. The Module Placement Bevel Guide makes the module placement easier. The mounting disk is multi-directional and rails are not required. The PV grab ears are broader for ease of installation and secure module engagement. For panel to panel connections, use the S-5! PVKIT 2.0 MidGrab.

    PVKIT fits a wide array of module thicknesses. Use with S-5! mini clamps enables fitting to all standing seam metal roof profiles of any material. When paired with S-5! brackets, the PVKIT 2.0 also works on all trapezoidal ribbed and corrugated metal roofs. If desired, the PVKIT can also be used with regular S-5 clamps.

    • Modules can be easily installed from ridge-down or eave-up.
    • More slots for wire securement.

    If using with VersaBracket or ProteaBracket, you will need to purchase one (1) M8 Flanged Nut Per PVKIT.

What module frame sizes can the PVKIT 2.0 EdgeGrab Standard accommodate?

One kit fits a broad range of solar panel frame heights, specifically 30 mm to 46 mm. That includes most standard residential and commercial solar modules.

Does PVKIT 2.0 provide grounding or bonding for PV arrays?

Yes. Each EdgeGrab includes a PV Disk with bonding teeth that scrub the anodized aluminum frame, creating a continuous UL 2703 listed grounding path without extra hardware.

Can I use a PVKIT 2.0 MidGrab on the edge of a module?

Yes, you can use a MidGrab as an EdgeGrab in most cases. Both versions are UL 2703 listed and provide the same mechanical and electrical performance for clamping and bonding.

However, if you plan to use PVKONCEAL, you must use the EdgeGrab version. The EdgeGrab is designed with an additional slot to allow PVKONCEAL to fit onto the attachment. The MidGrab does not provide this.

Do I still need rails to mount solar panels on a metal roof?

No, not if you’re using the S-5! PVKIT 2.0. Your metal roof already acts as the rail.
